MacBinary
An encoding format that allows Mac files to be stored on PCs and other non-Mac
computers. Many Mac files on the Internet are encoded in MacBinary format (they
end with ".bin", as in "filename.bin"). To decode and use such a file, you need
a program like Stuffit Expander.
mailing list
An automatic email system that sends subject-related messages to a specified
list of people interested in that topic.

MB
Abbreviation for megabyte. It's a measure of computer memory or hard disk
storage; a little more than a million bytes (actually 1,048,576 bytes). You need
8MB of RAM to install EarthLink Software. You get 6MB of free webspace with your
EarthLink account.
Microsoft
The company that created, among many products, the Windows operating systems
that run on most of the personal computers in the world and the Internet
Explorer Web browser.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Microsoft's browser software that allows you to navigate through information on
the Web. Version 4.5 is the latest.
MIDI
Musical Instrument Digital Interface. A protocol used to exchange musical
information between computers, synthesizers, and instruments. MIDI files are
often responsible for the music that automatically loads when you come to a Web
site.
