HTML
Abbreviation for HyperText Markup Language, the formatting language used to
create Web pages. HTML is made up of a set of tags or codes embedded in text
documents. It defines the page layout, fonts, and graphics, and hyperlinks to
other pages. If you use your browser to view the source of a Web page, what you
are looking at is HTML.

HTTP
HyperText Transfer Protocol. The protocol used by the Web to transfer hypertext
documents (Web pages).
hyperlink
A link from one Web page to another page at the same site or to another site
somewhere else on the Web (or even off the Web to other Internet resources). The
link is often from text (hypertext) but may be from an image. In either case,
you will notice the link if you hold your mouse cursor over the link, because a
hyperlink will change the cursor to a pointing hand icon.
hypertext
Text (words) that are "hyperlinked" (linked) to other Internet documents.
Hypertext is generally easily identified because it is highlighted, underlined,
and it changes the shape of your mouse cursor when you move it over the
hypertext.
