Definition: Venture Capital
The definition of venture capital is broad because many people are involved in the business funding process and they all have different expectations and perceptions of venture capital. Barring the differences in perceptions here is a broad definition of what venture capital is.
"Venture capital
is a method of business funding for companies who are looking to
grow or expand at beyond normal rates of business growth.
Venture capital is the money that comes into the business to
help fuel that growth. It is a form of equity investment where
the investors who give the money also get partial ownership of
the company (through shares) and often some sort of control
(seats on the board).
