Student Business

I think that it is so cool that the world is such that a student business can make a copious amount of money without ever leaving the dorm room. Why, for goodness sake, do we expect our students to sacrifice so much for their education? Really. It costs tens of thousands of dollars to enroll and get through any kind of post secondary education. Most people work at menial jobs and amass huge amounts of debt just to get through. They might, if all goes well, pay it off by the time they are thirty or so. Then and only then will they be in the clear. Then they can start making money for themselves. So the picture looks like this: You spend just over 20 years in school to load up with enough debt that you need to spend another 10 years paying it off so that when you are 40 you can enjoy the benefits of having worked free and clear for yet another ten years. It seems a little absurd to me.

It certainly was enough for me to consider the prospects of starting a student business. With a student business you can earn your way through school - cutting out your debt load - and have enough left over to enjoy all the little luxuries life has to offer. What I am saying is that a student vehicle allows you to bypass the traditional path to adult '9to5isim'.

There is a running bit of advice that you will see pop up all around the investment world. 'Start young.' Its is deceivingly simple yet it is a powerful statement. The sooner you start the more you will end up with. A student business is a vehicle that will get you starting younger then most people in the world. Your student business can start growing while most people are still focused on building their debt load!

It seems like a bit of a radical departure from the norm, but tell me, who said the norm was so great anyway? Don't you remember your parents telling you, 'just because your friends are jumping off a bridge you don't have to...' Or maybe they were a little more direct and just encouraged you not to give into peer pressure. Well, my friends, biting the bullet and go down the well worn path to the same old same old, 9 to 5, corporate slave, career path, just because everyone is doing it seems a little like jumping off the bridge to me. I think you will agree with me that if there was a way to avoid doing it, one would be wise to take it.

A student business is a means to escape this skull drudgery and debt that most people seem to crave. Be brave and start your own student business. Seize the day.
