Clinical Depression
Clinical depression is the term used to describe the medical illness known commonly as depression. Clinical depression relies on observable behaviors and physiological changes in order to be diagnosed. Clinical depression is different from being 'depressed'. Most people will go through normal cycles of ups and downs, this includes feeling depressed or 'blue'. Clinical depression on the other hand, is outside of these normal cycles. A person suffering from clinical depression experiences signs of depression and symptoms consistently for substantial periods of time. While clinical depression is serious, it is a treatable illness.
